Clare joined the ftc Board and took the position of Consultative Group Chair in 2014, supporting and advising Chairman John Proctor, Chief Executive Bill Jermey and her fellow ftc Board Members.
Clare recently retired from a 28 year career working within various food industry trade associations. For 9 years she was Director for Food and Drink at the British Retail Consortium (BRC), until she was appointed as Director General at the Provision Trade Federation (PTF). The PTF is the industry body for trade in dairy and pork products for which the UK market is worth around £6bn at retail prices. Clare also ran the Specialist Cheesemakers Association representing the interests of small cheesemakers.
Over her 28 years in the food industry, Clare has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience at both retailer and supplier ends of the chain, particularly in the areas of regulatory affairs and market information.
