Bill Jermey is the Company Secretary of the Food and Drink Training and Education Council Ltd (ftc).

Bill brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge from an entire career spent in the food industry.

Starting his career as a management trainee at consumer goods giant Unilever; Bill worked within new product development, moving into production management and ultimately leadership of a production facility.

Latterly, Bill ran his own food business. He eventually sold the company to focus on a range of high profile trusteeships and board level positions in the industry, including those at Improve, BMPA, IoM and MTC. He is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Butchers; Fellow of the Institute of Meat and a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology.

Bill has been involved with the ftc group of companies since 2005; this longevity is evidence of his strong commitment to lifelong learning and a desire to drive up skills within the food industry as a whole. He is particularly keen to remove the common barriers – ie. unnecessary costs and bureaucracy – which can prevent businesses from getting the most from training their workforce.
